Mode of operation
Water flows through a single or multi-stage centrifugal pump against its actual flow direction. By changing the flow, the direction of rotation is reversed and the motor can be used as a generator. This type of turbine is usually used in constant water circuits or pumped storage power plants.
The proven technology used in the reverse centrifugal pump (RLPT) is the least expensive, compared with the other turbines. Likewise, this turbine can be operated with counter-pressure at the outlet, so it can be positioned in the cellar or provide downstream treatment for the water (UV, treatment plants, etc.). In this variant, the throughput is only controllable to a limited extent, thus hydropeaking is often provided.
Multi-stage high-pressure pumps or single-stage low-pressure pumps are used. These can be easily optimised for higher efficiency.
Scope of delivery
In addition to the pump turbine we supply piping, fittings and electrical equipment. Our engineering services include concept development, individual advice during the project and coordination with the required professional staff.
